The Updogs just didn't have room for us this year, the team captain (and bus owner) is from Mt. Pleasant, and since the ride is going through there this year, they had more people from their hometown that wanted to go. His son is a friend of Chris's (and mine) here in Texas and el capitan gave him a limited number of people that he could invite on the team this year. Unfortunately they didn't have room for us both, and Chris wouldn't leave me behind. (He probably only wants me along on the chance that I find his perineum during the overnights, so it may only be me on your team once he finds out about the celebacy policy)

 I'm really looking forward to a new team this year though. While the Updogs were devoted to arriving at the overnight town in a timely manner (some of them are quite competitive), Chris and I were the only ones devoted to the morning Bloody Marys and almost always the last to arrive. That's what RAGBRAI is all about, right? They were a great group of people, but it will be fun to experience RAGBRAI with a new team.

Annie, I like your style.  Room on the bus is all dependent on a couple of things right now.  First, Dede is considering but leaning away from getting her CDL again, which would increase our legal capacity (sort of).  I haven't really been to anal about this in the past, but we need to keep the driver legal and happy.  As of right now, I haven't received confirmation from Arun, his GF and his GF's F.  If they do not go we would have 12 for the trips out and back.  The limit is 15.  So in that case, we would for sure have room for Annie and Chris .  Clear as mud?

Okay- there is a great possibility that I will be dropped off in Council Bluffs, as my hometown is only a couple hours away. That would put Chris and no bikes, or even gear from Iowa City to CB. However, I don't know that we can find a hook up from Burlington to IC yet, so we would probably need a ride there. Thank you so much for welcoming us onto your team! Keep me posted whether or not its going to work out on your end. Chris and I have some time to figure things out. I'm getting so pumped about the ride this year. We just rode the MS150 from Houston to Austin (actually only LaGrange to Austin, the first day was canceled), and my butt burn and sunburn are bringing back fond memories of Iowa in July…

Yeah, we don't drink ANYTHING….except alcohol.  So Arun says he and his girls are planning on going for the week, so we will have to wait and see.  We will ask for deposits soon and if there are any weed-outs, then we can go to the “waiting list”.  I'm cheering for you.  You should see me with my skirt and pom-pons.

What is this shit about not drinking! Send my deposit back! Don't tell Eash – he'll cry.

Nonetheless, if you change your drydom ways, I'm finalizing my flights out from the UK.  Lee has kindly offered to help me get shacked in Des Moines so I need to figure out when y'all are passing through.  Currently, I'm planning on getting to Des Moines on the 18th at 8:00 PM with the hope that the bus will be passing by on the Sunday?

Also, my flight will be out of Des Moines on the Sunday (26th) at 9 so I'm hoping the bus will be passing by on the Saturday (25th?

Does this fit in with the bus route?
